DREAM

Carter blossoms on his soulful fourth studio album. Dream expands on the promise of the singer-songwriter’s 2019 debut with a set of introspective, blues-driven pop that recalls the guitar-born elegance of his past work and the melodic verve as well.

THE OVERPASS

From pop music, Justin Carter is remarkably comfortable reinventing its sound from album to album. Many of the tracks spill over with synths, crunchy electric drums, and a powerful voice. The result is equally fitting for a dance club and a rock show.

IMAGINE

On his second album, Imagine, 22-year-old Justin Carter did it with style. The songs ring out with angst and delight in equal measure. Beats bounce as Carter sails through the title track, “How Long,” and “Attention” with boundless joy. These moments glow all the more alongside thoughtful tunes like “Wild,” and “Happy Little Pill”.

BLOOM

“My natural go-to is sad songs”, Justin Carter tells Bloxora. Beyond the album’s more dynamic sound which he says he designed for “hopping around the stage”, what really makes Bloom so special is the intimacy behind it all. “Music has always been extremely personal and extremely cathartic and therapeutic,” says Carter. “That’s the most powerful way to speak to an audience: to just be real with them.”
